Nikon View Nx 2.9.2 For Macbook Pro

Nikon View NX 2.9.2 is a third party application that provides additional functionality to OS X system and enjoys a popularity among Mac users. However, instead of installing it by dragging its icon to the Application folder, uninstalling Nikon View NX 2.9.2 may need you to do more than a simple drag-and-drop to the Trash. This is the full version of ViewNX 2.10.3 for Windows and Mac computers. If you are currently using ViewNX 2 this download will uninstall your existing version and then install version 2.10.3. This software supports all Nikon D-SLR cameras, Nikon 1, and all COOLPIX cameras with USB support. I used to use Nikon Transfer to transfer photos from my Nikon (Coolpix P5100) to my computer (Mac) and it was easy.

Now I have upgraded to OS 10.5.8. Why do they have to make it so complicated? I now have to use ViewNX 2 but I can't figure out how to do it. On the View NX 2 screen there's a camera icon labeled Transfer but it is grayed out. I can't find any instructions on how to use View NX2.

How do I transfer photos?

Is there any information available on how to use View NX2?

Added (1). Thanks for the suggestion, Won for All. I've only been using a digital camera for a couple of years, don't do that much photography, would rather not buy another piece of equipment.

I don't even know what this Lexar Pro is, how it works, had to do some searching to find that UDMA is ultra direct memory access and SD reader is secure digital reader. I think this is a bit beyond me.

So if you could tell me how to use ViewNX 2 that would be great.

Added (2). Later -- Problem solved! I realized, I had to delete Nikon Transfer. Then, I could use View NX 2 and successfully downloaded the photos to my computer. It wasn't that hard to do, pretty intuitive. But the downloading was slow.

So for me, it wouldn't be worth buying the Lexar Pro. I can see that for people who do a lot of photograph it might be worth it, though.

You can just do it the old fashion and fast way…
Use a card reader, pop your card in, and drag and drop the images into a folder on your Mac. I use Lightroom & Photoshop, and find ViewNX to be not near as good.

I can transfer 8 GB of photos in about 5 minutes with my Lexar Pro UDMA compact flash, SD reader.
