Sonic 06 PC P-06 Demo v2.5 is here! It's a smaller update this time, but still has some cool features. The adventure jump ball is now slightly smaller to fit. 2006 was going to be on PC ( on Sonic Riders on PC manual, on the back cover, there's a cover of 2006 with both PS3, X360 and PC DVD ) but it was canceled, some says beacuse specs were too high for PC's at these times and some said that creators couldn't even make console version on time and PC was dropped, if it wouldn't, well, game would look even worse.

In all seriousness, the PC community never got to witness the travesty that was Sonic ’06 when it released back in the day. Of course, you can absolutely have your own opinion and enjoy this game for what it is, but the game was widely panned as one of if not the worst game in the entire franchise. It features an incredibly weird level design, Sonic for some reason is surrounded by weirdly realistic looking people, and I am pretty sure I can remember him have a love interest with a human. Well, PC players can now jump into the hedgehog and human love story thanks to Sonic the Hedgehog (P-06). You can take a look at the trailer for the remake in the video below.
From what I can see in the trailer, it was looking pretty good. As in the actual remake of the game is looking good. The actual game is definitely not great. You can download the demo through this Mediafire link and the YouTuber ChaosX, who actually first uploaded a video about this remake about two years ago, has actually created a form for players to report bugs so that players can report bugs that can be fixed in later builds.
While I will never understand why fans would go to the extents that they did to create this game, I have to give them some credit for putting in the incredibly hard work to make this happen. Even if it is for Sonic ’06.
Project 06 (a.k.a. Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 Remake) is a very ambitious fan made project that aims the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog game in Unity.
The 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog game was far from a classic, but it had its good points and it had some great levels. It was let down by some less than stellar playable side characters, a dull story and an awful town wandering RPG style sections. Thankfully Project 06 is focusing on remaking the good parts of the game and currently has two full playable levels – Wave Ocean and Kingdom Valley.
Each level is perfectly recreated and the three playable characters (Sonic, Tails and Silver) all feel great. As in the original, Wave Ocean is a lot more fun to play but Kingdom Valley offers a satisfying challenge and both are packed full of secrets and shortcuts to find which can help you chase that elusive ‘S’ ranking.
As the original was an Xbox 360/PS3 game it was already a HD game, so the graphical update isn’t huge, but everything looks a little bit brighter and crisper and (as long as you’re playing on a good PC) the game moves at a remarkable pace. It’s a lot of fun and it’s nice to be reminded that Sonic 06 wasn’t an all bad game, it just had some (very) bad sections. Hopefully the devs continue to just remake the good levels and ignore the dross!
