In late June 2015, Doug Murtha Scion vice president, said that the Scion xB will no longer produce, and that the 2015 Scion xB be the last series. But the latest news and rumors say something different, maybe the redesigned Scion xB still see the light of the day.
To change the changing fortunes, the new 2016 Scion xB has been completely redesigned with a number of both visual and mechanical changes. Outside the North America market, the car goes with other names which are Toyota bB, Daihatsu Coo and Toyota Corolla Rumion.
2016 Scion xB Exterior
Scion has refreshed the new Scion xB look and has hooked it up with a youthful appearance which is sleeker than the current model. The vehicle stretches 168-inches long, 69-inches wide and stands at a height of 63 inches. It will have a wheelbase of 102-inches.
At the front, the vehicle features a new fascia with redesigned bumper, a large grille and new long but narrow LED headlights. This makes the Scion look sleek. At the rear, the car comes with redesigned rear bumper and new chrome exhaust tips. The car 4- door vehicle will also be offered in new body colors all in a bid to gain more audience than its predecessor.
2016 Scion xB Interior
We have little details on the Scion xB’s interior styling, but we are meant to understand that the car will feature an excellent cabin with quality materials. According to rumors, the dashboard will be completely overhauled. It will feature high quality upholstery perhaps with leather. We also expect a leather wrapped steering wheel.
The center console will feature an updated 6.1-inch infotainment system. New tech’ features such as Bluetooth connectivity, Smartphone integration, USB ports will also find their way into the cabin. The vehicle will also most likely feature remote access, power lock doors and electric power operated mirrors.
Safety features on the Scion xB will include anti-lock braking system (ABS), stability and traction control, electronic brake force distribution and the regular safety features such as seatbelts and a range of driver and passenger airbags. Engine Specs and Performance
Under the hood of the 2016 Scion xB, the vehicle could feature an array of engines. However, from the details we currently have, there will be a 2.4 L, I-4 engine which produces 158 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be paired with a 4-speed automatic system or a 5-speed manual transmission system. The system will be offered in front wheel drive mode.
In terms of fuel economy, the engine will deliver estimated fuel economy ratings of 22mpg, 28 mpg and 24 mp for city, highway and combined drives respectively when paired with any of the transmission systems. This engine accelerates from 0-60 mph in 6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 124 mph.

Price and release date
Scion is yet to announce the official price or release date details of the 2016 Scion Xb. However interior sources intimate that the automaker will avail the car to dealer showrooms in late 2015 as they cannot afford to hold it for long due to budgetary restrictions. The new Scion xB will have a starting (MSRP) price of around $ 18,000.
